Savings of up to 45 percent on hotels, restaurants, computer software, and more!
DALLAS-February 1, 2005- TXU Energy today launched TXU Energy Rewards+, a one-of-a-kind program for electricity customers that offers merchandise and services, such as hotels, condo rentals, luggage, DVDs, computer software and cruises, at prices that are up to 45 percent lower than the most popular on-line travel and shopping sites.
TXU Energy Rewards+ is an Internet-based program available to TXU Energy residential and small business customers in Texas, and can be accessed through TXU Energy’s Web site (www.txu.com).
“We want to show our appreciation to all our customers for choosing us as their electricity provider and reward them for being valued customers,” said Jim Burke, senior vice president of consumer markets for TXU Energy. “Our customers are important to us, and this is another way of adding value to the service they receive from TXU Energy.”
TXU Energy Rewards+ allows customers to accumulate credits, or Rewards Dollars, every month. The Rewards Dollars can be used at any time to take advantage of great discounts on a wide variety of merchandise and travel-all for being a TXU Energy customer. Rewards Dollars may be accumulated across months and redeemed for larger rewards.
Upon completing the sign-up process, residential customers start with a bonus of 100 Rewards Dollars, and receive 50 Rewards Dollars each month thereafter. Similar offers are available for TXU Energy business customers. The amount of Rewards Dollars customers receive is not dependent on the amount of electricity they use each month.
Customers will also able to check their balance on-line and immediately use their Rewards Dollars to receive some of the lowest prices available on travel and merchandise.
“In addition to the savings, another great advantage of TXU Energy Rewards+ is that customers can begin redeeming their Rewards Dollars immediately, unlike many miles and points programs,” said Burke.
Below is an example of how it can work for a residential customer with a balance of 150 Rewards Dollars:
